Tickets & Registration
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes. We need to know you are coming so our tour restaurants & partners can make arrangements and prepare food for you. Our website is set up to easily complete your registration and secure payment for any tour, or you can register over the phone by calling 980-258-9992. Tours often sell out, so book early to reserve your spot.
If a tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
Yes. Please contact us to be added to the waitlist for any sold out tours.
Can I get a refund for my ticket if I need to cancel?
We accept cancellations with full refund up to 5 days in advance of your tour. If cancellation should occur within 5 days of your tour, the ticket price is non-refundable. Please notify us in writing at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call at 980-258-9992 to process a cancellation.
Can I send someone else in my place if I can not make it?
Yes. Please notify us in writing at email@example.com or give us a call at 980-258-9992 to update your registration information. The resolution of financial arrangements must be made between yourselves.
Do I need to tip the staff at each stop?
No. All charges and gratuities for the activities and products at each tour stop are included in your ticket price. However, gratuity is not included for the tour guide. The industry standard for gratuity is 15% to 20%.
What if a tour does not meet minimum enrollment?
We do reserve the right to cancel any tour that does not meet the minimum attendee requirements. You will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and offered the option of a refund or the ability to schedule another tour.
How physically fit do I need to be?
If you can wander around large grocery stores, home improvement stores, or malls, you can handle this. We will cover on average 1 mile of slow-paced walking, with plenty of stops along the way to sit and refuel!
Are there age restrictions?
We recommend that any children on the tour be 13+ years of age, as small children may not find the experience very fun, tasty, or entertaining. Alcoholic beverages will only be served to guests 21+ years of age.
Are the tours handicap accessible?
Yes, for the most part. Please contact us or give us a call to allow us to walk you through some options and suggestions.
Can I bring my dog?
As much as we love our furry friends, they are not permitted on any of our experiences due to health department regulations.
Are the tours appropriate for Charlotte natives?
Of course! The tours are created by Charlotteans for Charlotteans, and we are sure there will still be lots to learn and experience from the city's hidden culinary gems.
Preparation & Logistics
What happens if it rains?
We typically run our experiences rain or shine, however, in the case of severe weather we may cancel your experience. If your experience is canceled due to severe weather, you will be notified and will have the option to refund or to reschedule for a future tour.
Does the tour end at the same place that it began?
Some tours do, some do not. If you do not end in the same location as the start, you will only be one or two blocks away and your guide will be able to give you directions!
Are there bathroom breaks?
Yes, most of our stops will have facilities available for use.
What should I wear or bring? Are cameras allowed?
Please dress appropriately for the weather. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen. Feel free to bring bottled water. Cameras are definitely allowed to capture your memories along the way- feel free to tag us and our partners on social media if you share your photos! Having some cash handy for any additional purchases and/or to tip your tour guide's job well done is always appreciated.
Do we just walk around and sample food?
That is only part of the experience! At most stops, you will interact with chefs and restaurant owners, have an opportunity to learn new culinary tricks and trends, get behind-the-scenes, and have fun with fellow "foodies."
Are tours only offered in English?
Yes, but if you have any language needs please contact us so that we can work with your interpreter or help you find one.
Food & Beverage
How much food & beverage is included? Should I eat before I come?
Each tour includes a small plate or bites at 5-6 stops for the equivalent of a small meal. As for beverages, each tour includes an alcoholic beverage sample at a minimum of 3 stops. All stops include non-alcoholic beverages. While this can vary from tour to tour and person to person, we recommend that you come hungry so that you can enjoy everything!
What if I have dietary restrictions?
During registration, you will have the opportunity to inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions. We work with our tour partners to do everything we can to accommodate your needs.*
Due to the pre-planning and prepping for each experience, we are unable to accommodate new or updated dietary restrictions upon arrival or during the tour experience.
*We are unable to accommodate any dietary restrictions on our Chef-Driven Dining in Uptown Tour. We are also unable to accommodate gluten-free and/or dairy-free restrictions on our Local Flavors of Historic NoDa Tour. Guests who are non-drinkers can be accommodated on any of our tours, and guests with dietary restrictions can be accommodated on most tours with advance notice except Chef-Driven Dining in Uptown and Local Flavors of Historic NoDa.
