Soul of the South Debuts on TV!
The Soul of the South Uptown Food Tour made its television debut today on WCNC TV’s Charlotte Today show. The hosts, Colleen Odegaard and Ramona Holloway, invited three of our participating Tour Partners to prepare a dish including their favorite Southern ingredients.
Chef Chris Coleman from the McNinch House Restaurant prepared a Caramel Nut Tart with Bourbon Ice Cream and Praline Bacon. Chef Joe Kindred from Rooster’s Wood Fired Kitchen Uptown showcased some Anson Mills Grits from South Carolina in a savory Shrimp & Grits dish with tomatoes and chorizo. Finally, Rachel Klebaur, owner of Orrman’s Cheese Shop at 7th Street Public Market, introduced some great Southern cheeses paired with great Southern artisanal products that compliment.
